Terms and Conditions

Customers using our services must agree to our terms and conditions indicated below unless otherwise negotiated and recorded in writing and signed by both parties entering into an agreement for our services.

The following paragraphs contain the general terms and conditions under which TRUNK-IT, LLC is engaged in the movement, transportation, rental, and/or storage of personal items including, but not limited to: boxes and packages within the United States and jointly through interchange with its affiliates. TRUNK-IT, LLC reserves the right to amend any portion of this service explanation at any time. The most current service explanation may be found at TRUNK-IT, LLC Web site (www.trunk-it.com) and is available upon written request from TRUNK-IT, LLC.  Storage services shall include the pickup, transportation, storage, and delivery of the customer's possessions. The customer shall present pre-packed personal goods to TRUNK-IT, LLC at the time of pickup. TRUNK-IT, LLC shall transport these goods to an appropriate storage facility chosen at the sole discretion of TRUNK-IT, LLC. TRUNK-IT, LLC will return the goods to the customer during dates and times established by TRUNK-IT, LLC. Customer agrees to be present to receive the goods at the specified delivery date, time, and location.


The customer understands access to goods in storage is permitted only with 5 days prior notice and upon payment of a non-refundable fee as per the pricing section below. If the items must be delivered prior to the specified delivery dates, an additional fee will apply as per the pricing section below.  The customer will be provided dates and times for the delivery of materials (boxes, tape, marker, labels, packing instructions, etc) that they will need for their packing. This information will be sent to the customer via email or flyer.  The customer must have a contract with TRUNK-IT, LLC to receive service. At the time of materials delivery, the customer will enter establish a contract with TRUNK-IT, LLC. On this contract, the customer will acknowledge the he or she has read the Terms and Conditions. The terms and conditions are the same as on the web site.


The customer will receive the packing materials that he or she requested at a prearranged date, time and location. At this time the customer may request and receive additional materials. A customer service representative will indicate the amount of materials given and write that amount on their contract. Any materials that the customer takes must be used for our program. Any extra materials that the customer does not use should be given back on the day of their scheduled pick-up. If the customer takes more materials than they use and does not return them in same condition that they received them, there will be additional charges for those items. The costs for items are as follows: small box: $4.00, medium box: $5.00, large box: $7.00, tape: $5.00.  TRUNK-IT, LLC will provide the customer with a date, time and location of which pickup or delivery will occur. This information will be sent via email to the customer. TRUNK-IT, LLC provides storage services subject to a number of restrictions. The customer accepts full responsibility and liability for any damages or losses that result from the customer's failure to adhere to these service restrictions. . The customer must communicate any changes to the previously scheduled delivery date or location to TRUNK-IT, LLC at least 5 days prior to the earlier of the originally scheduled delivery date and the new delivery date. Changes made within 5 days of delivery are not guaranteed. An additional fee may be assessed as per the Pricing section below. The customer recognizes that TRUNK-IT, LLC will not be held liable for damage to their belongings after delivery has occurred. In the event that the customer or his/her designated representative is not present during their scheduled delivery date and time, TRUNK-IT, LLC representatives will not leave items behind and the customer will have to make arrangements for a re-delivery solely at the expense of the customer. Customers must notify TRUNK-IT, LLC in writing in advance if someone else is to receive their belongings.


The customer recognizes that only loss or damage caused by the negligence of TRUNK-IT, LLC will be covered by TRUNK-IT, LLC insurance policy, as described in these Terms and Conditions. Only physical damage to the exterior of the item will activate any insurance claim on the item.  The customer acknowledges reading and accepting the terms of TRUNK-IT, LLC Packing Tips as found on TRUNK-IT, LLC Web site and agrees that the safe packing of items is the sole responsibility of the customer.  The customer agrees to pay the total cost of the services provided by TRUNK-IT, LLC based on the number and type of items tendered to TRUNK-IT, LLC at the time of pickup, the exact services to be provided, and the prices contained on TRUNK-IT, LLC web site. The customer further agrees to pay any applicable fees as specified below:


In some cases at the discretion of TRUNK-IT, LLC, the may be required to pay a $25 deposit by credit card to reserve space for our services. The deposit will be credited against the customer's final bill. Deposits will be refundable only if requested prior to 2 weeks before the customer's finals week. The deposit will be refunded in full in the event that TRUNK-IT, LLC is unable to perform the services for the customer for any reason other than the customer's willful acts to void the contract. All charges for services are due and payable immediately upon pickup of the customer's possessions. All accounts must be paid by credit card, cash or check upon pickup. The customer hereby authorizes TRUNK-IT, LLC to charge the customer-provided credit card or bank account for the balance owed for the services rendered and any additional fees after deducting the initial deposit. The customer acknowledges that they remain indebted to TRUNK-IT, LLC for any balance owed on their account as a result of invalid credit card information, TRUNK-IT, LLC's inability to receive credit card authorizations, or for any other reason, which prevents TRUNK-IT, LLC from being paid for the services and any additional fees. TRUNK-IT, LLC reserves the right to hold the customer's possessions until payment has been received in full. The customer acknowledges that their failure to pay their account in full prior to the delivery date could result in a change in the delivery date and the assessment of additional fees. Pricing for the services shall be in accordance with the pricing schedule contained on TRUNK-IT, LLC Web site. In addition, TRUNK-IT, LLC will charge and the customer will pay additional fees as described in this section. The purpose of the additional fees is to compensate TRUNK-IT, LLC for expenses it incurs beyond those associated with the provision of services according to standard procedures. Additional Fees may be charged for the following: Re-delivery After Failed Attempt - $50, Summer Access (location of warehouse) - $50, Pick-Up or Delivery Outside Standard Dates - $50 weekends and Holidays, $30 weekdays, Late Change of Delivery Day or Location - $40, Billing Fee - $15, Additional Abandonment Fees - Costs incurred when storage items are not claimed by the customer.  TRUNK-IT, LLC uses vendors and other agents in performing the services for the customer. The customer acknowledges the use of these parties and the fact that the customer has no contractual relationship with these parties.  Liability for losses and/or damage:  (a) The company when transporting to or from the warehouse for permanent storage acts as a private carrier only, reserving the right to refuse any order for transporting and in no event is a common carrier. (b) This contract is accepted subject to delays or damages caused by war, insurrection, labor troubles, strikes, Acts of God or the public enemy, riots, the elements, street traffic, elevator service or other causes beyond the control of the company. (c) The company is not responsible for any fragile articles injured or broken, unless packed by its employees and unpacked by them at the time of delivery. The company will not be responsible for mechanical or electrical functioning of any article such as but not limited to computers, computing equipment, electronic keyboards, pianos, radios, phonographs, television sets, clocks, barometers, mechanical refrigerators or air conditioners or other instruments or appliances whether or not such articles are packed or unpacked by the company. (d) No liability of any kind shall attach to the company for any damage caused to the goods by inherent vice, moths, vermin or other insects, rust, fire, water, changes of temperature, fumigation, deterioration or acts of God. (e) Unless a greater valuation is stated on the front of this contract, the consumer-bailer or owner declares that the value in case of loss or damage arising out of storage, transportation, packing, unpacking, fumigation, cleaning or handling of the goods and the liability of the company for any cause for which it may be liable for each or any piece or package and the contents thereof does not exceed and is limited to $0.30 per lb. per article or $100.00 per company provided box (whichever is lower) and $20.00 per loose accepted item up to a maximum of $500.00 for the entire order accepted by the company under the same contract.  (f) In no event shall the company be responsible for loss or damage to documents, stamps, securities, specie or jewelry or other articles of high and unusual value unless a special agreement in writing is made between the consumer-bailer and the company with respect to such articles. TRUNK-IT, LLC strongly recommends the purchase of additional insurance.


The following items are strictly prohibited from being packed by the customer and provided to TRUNK-IT, LLC for movement or storage:  Flammable Aerosol cans and sprays. Animal skins / Furs / Any Animal Parts including meat / Ivory and ivory products. Any item that is not boxed or properly protected for shipping or storage. Articles of exceptional value (e.g., works of art, antiques, precious stones, gold and silver).  Boxes or items with Hazardous labels - items with a Hazardous label attached will be classed as such and will not be accepted - DO NOT RE USE OLD HAZARDOUS BOXES. Currency / Keys / Negotiable items / Payment cards/ Checks or Tickets that are not named. Dangerous goods: e.g. Explosives / Fireworks / Christmas Crackers / Radioactive Materials / Deactivated or Replica Weapons and Munitions / Firearms / Swords / Knives / Weapons, Engines / Generators / Gearboxes or any part containing or having contained oil/petrol unless flushed through, Fire Extinguishers, Food items (Perishable).  Hazardous materials: e.g. Paint / Adhesives / Chemicals / Flammable resins, solvents, liquids / Compressed Air / Items containing any gases. Household goods containing flammable or corrosive liquids, such as oven or drain cleaners / perfume, aftershave/ hairspray/ nail varnish and remover. Human Remains / Body Fluids. Liquids / Adhesives / Paint. Live / Dead animals. Magnets or items containing ferro-magnetic material. Mobile Phone with Sim card. Passports / Birth Certificates / Driving Licenses. Wet or Lithium Batteries (Not including Dry Cell). Any materials and products that may be dangerous or hazardous to handling staff. Items with inherent vice. Items which by their nature are likely to soil, impair or damage persons, merchandise or equipment. Items the carriage of which is prohibited by law in the country of origin, transit or destination.


Without limiting the right of TRUNK-IT, LLC to conclude for other reasons that the customer will not be returning to school, the customer agrees that their failure to be present on the scheduled delivery day and their failure to communicate with TRUNK-IT, LLC concerning an alternate delivery arrangement constitutes abandonment of their stored possessions.  Under abandonment of their possessions, the customer agrees to pay TRUNK-IT, LLC for all charges and fees relating to the failed delivery and further shipping of the possessions to the permanent address provided by the customer at the time of registration. TRUNK-IT, LLC has the right to assume ownership of the abandoned property on October 30th of the service year.  Except as specifically provided in this agreement, the customer waives any claims for damage or loss of any article against TRUNK-IT, LLC and its employees. The customer expressly releases and holds TRUNK-IT, LLC and its agents and employees harmless from any and all costs of processing any claim or defending any claim arising from this Agreement. The customer expressly acknowledges that TRUNK-IT, LLC is not a professional storer, mover or common carrier and waives the right to hold TRUNK-IT, LLC to any laws or standards governing storers, movers or carriers.


The customer acknowledges that there are no representations, warranties, or agreements by or between the parties which are not fully set forth herein and no representative of TRUNK-IT, LLC or TRUNK-IT, LLC's agents is authorized to make any representations, warranties, or Agreements other than as expressly set forth herein. A written agreement signed by the parties may only amend this Agreement.  This agreement shall be governed, interpreted, and construed according to the law of the State of Hawaii. The customer agrees that any court action pertaining to this agreement shall be conducted in courts in the State of Hawaii.
